WELCOME TO WILD SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE
In the colorful markets of Durban, South Africa, I developed what one friend would later describe as my "wild social intelligence"—a rare capacity born from navigating between my Danish parents' expat community and the vibrant multicultural tapestry around me. This ability deepened through adolescence in Wyoming, continuing as I became quadrilingual while moving between Denmark, Germany, France, and the United States. Each environment required a heightened awareness of unspoken social cues and human dynamics, transforming a survival skill into a gift: “when I'm with you, I'm truly with you”—observing micro-expressions that reveal deeper truths, sensing emotions beneath the surface, and hearing what remains unspoken.
My professional journey from marketing executive to architecture firm partner to foundation director supporting rural communities has been guided by this ability to see beneath organizational and community surfaces. Today, living with my partner John by a Minnesota lake, my deep attunement with the natural world, recognizing that we are part of a larger social fabric that includes the more-than-human world. Like my female ancestors on Fanø who created community while their men were at sea, I've witnessed how connections can be created that transcend traditional boundaries.
As a coach, I offer this wild social intelligence as a mirror—helping you see overlooked aspects of yourself, unrecognized connections, and possibilities beyond your current vision. This isn't just about being a good listener; it's about bringing a rare quality of presence that helps you move from survival to flourishing, from disconnection to belonging, from uncertainty to groundedness, even amid turbulent change. Like Fanø's resilient grasses that survive on both saltwater and freshwater, my approach helps you discover your remarkable adaptability while staying rooted in your essential self. I welcome clients seeking something deeper than conventional coaching—women navigating transitions, seeking authentic community connection, or desiring to contribute beyond themselves in meaningful ways.
a Story of transformation
The swan | The frog | the seed
SHATTERING ILLUSIONS
My coaching approach emerged through my own transformation journey—from survival to flourishing. This story shapes how I work with clients today.
In November 2023, despite having my dream job at a foundation helping rural communities, I had lost my joy. One morning, walking near our lake, I noticed two swans swimming directly toward me. They stopped just 15 feet away as if bringing a message. The swan—a symbol of transformation—was telling me it was time for change. With certainty and my partner John's support, I gave notice that day.
This phase was about releasing old identities and expectations. Like the swan shedding its "ugly duckling" appearance, I needed to release how I thought my life should look.
DISCOVERING VOICE
As winter yielded to spring, thousands of tiny frogs announced change with their vibrating songs. Inside me, something was vibrating too. Working with my coach, I discovered grief and unspoken truths stored in my chest, making it difficult to express what mattered most.
I call this my "frog phase"—learning to vibrate with my authentic voice. I began reclaiming parts of myself I had dismissed as merely "stories," my courage moving across continents, my resilience navigating unfamiliar cultures, and my deep connection with nature. In this middle ground, tiny beginnings of my coaching practice emerged.
FINDING TRUE JOY
The final chapter came through plant medicine ceremonies. In my first, I experienced the fusion of my Danish ancestry and African birthplace, dissolving my lifelong question of where I belonged. I realized I belonged everywhere.
In the second ceremony, after dissolving completely, I became not a butterfly, but a tiny seed in the ground. I experienced divine joy and love beyond anything I'd known before—the contentment of being held by Mother Earth as a seed, full of potential with no pressure to become anything yet.
This became the core of my coaching approach: our deepest joy often comes not from achieving, but from connecting to the earth and our essential selves. Profound transformation can happen "in place" through internal reconnection with joy and the natural world.
The swan guided me to release what no longer served. The frog taught me to speak my truth. The seed showed me where true joy resides.
MY INVITATION TO YOU
I now invite others to discover their transformational path — their authentic story. Whether you're feeling called to make a change, finding your authentic voice, or seeking deeper joy, I believe your transformation is already within you.
Like the women of Fanø creating community while staying rooted, like grasses holding sand against ocean tides, and like the seed nestled in Mother Earth, we can discover profound joy in being exactly who we are, held in the embrace of something greater than ourselves.
This is the wisdom I bring to our work: not just techniques, but lived experience of the path from survival to flourishing, from disconnection to belonging, from longing to joy.
